What is Volli?

Volli is a volleyball scoreboard for iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch. Tap a team's half to score; Volli handles rally scoring, side-out, sets and the deciding set, with numbers you can read from the top row of the bleachers. Between the two scores it draws the live rotation — six positions per team, turning automatically on every side-out, with the server highlighted. It works entirely offline, and there are no ads.

Is Volli free?

Your first match is free in full — every ruleset, the rotation grid, undo, the Apple Watch app, everything. Nothing is limited and nothing is asked for during it. After that first match, scoring requires Volli PRO. Reading your history, changing settings, sharing a score card and restoring a purchase are never gated.

Which rules does it know?

NFHS Varsity and Sub-Varsity, USAV, NCAA women's and men's, FIVB, and beach doubles — each with its own points per set, deciding-set points, timeouts, technical timeouts and change-of-ends rule. You can also build a custom ruleset with a point cap. Changing the ruleset mid-match re-derives the score from the same rally log, so nothing is lost.

How does the rotation grid work?

Enter each team's six starting jersey numbers once, and the grid keeps them in place: on every side-out the receiving team rotates one position clockwise and the new server is highlighted. With PRO you can also name the system you run — 5-1, 6-2 or 4-2 — and each player is labelled S, OH, MB or OPP with the setter of the current rotation marked. Roles travel with the player, not with the seat.

I tapped the wrong side. Can I fix it?

Always. Undo is unlimited and tells you what it took back; each team has a −1 button; holding a team's half also takes a point back; and you can type the score in directly from the chip at the top. At the scorer's table you can turn on confirmation for set and match point, and lock the screen against stray taps.

I left the app mid-match. Did I lose the score?

No. Volli restores the match exactly as it was — the score, the set, the rotation and whose serve it is — and simply tells you it did. There is no "continue where you left off?" dialog to answer.

Is my data private?

Completely. Your scores, history, team names, line-ups and settings are stored only on your device. There's no account, no ads, no analytics, and no tracking. The only thing that ever leaves your device is what's needed to process a purchase. See our Privacy Policy.

Does it sync between my iPhone and Apple Watch?

Yes — the live score syncs directly between your iPhone and your paired Apple Watch over Apple's on-device connection. It does not pass through any server. The Watch shows the score, the server and the timeouts; the rotation grid stays on the phone, because six cells on a 40 mm screen cannot be read reliably.

What does Volli PRO cost, and how do I manage it?

PRO is offered as a weekly or annual auto-renewing subscription — each with a seven-day free trial for eligible Apple IDs — or as a one-time lifetime purchase that never renews and is covered by Family Sharing. Prices vary by region and are always shown in the app before you confirm. Manage or cancel anytime in Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions.

I already paid — how do I restore my purchase?

Open Volli's Settings and tap Restore purchases, or tap Restore on the purchase screen. This re-checks your Apple ID for an active subscription or lifetime purchase. Be sure you're signed in with the same Apple ID you bought with.

How do I get a refund?

Purchases are processed by Apple, so refunds are handled by Apple. Request one at reportaproblem.apple.com. If something went wrong, email us first at support@byanton.dev and we'll help.

Is Volli official? Can I use it to referee a sanctioned match?

No. The rulesets are named after the bodies whose formats they follow so you can recognise your own format, but Volli is not affiliated with or endorsed by NFHS, USAV, the NCAA, FIVB or any other governing body. Where an official scoresheet exists, the official scoresheet governs.
