This Privacy Policy describes how Rulr: Spirit Level & AR Ruler ("Rulr," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and protects your information. This policy applies to the Rulr mobile application (the "App").

As a small-scale individual developer, we are not required to appoint a Data Protection Officer under GDPR Article 37. For all privacy inquiries, contact us at the email above.
Summary: Rulr is a measurement tool (AR ruler, screen ruler, spirit level). We collect zero personal data. All measurements and calibration settings are stored locally on your device. We do not use cameras to collect photos — the camera is used only for real-time AR measurement. No data leaves your device. No accounts. No tracking. No ads.

Camera Privacy: Rulr uses the camera exclusively for AR measurement. Camera frames are processed on-device by Apple's ARKit framework in real time. We never capture, store, transmit, or share any images or video from your camera. When you save a measurement photo, it is stored only in your device's photo library under your control.
1.3 Information We Do NOT Collect
- Name, email address, phone number, or any personal identifiers
- Photos or video (camera is used for live AR only)
- Location (GPS)
- Contacts, calendar, or other app data
- Advertising identifiers (IDFA)
- Browsing history or cookies
- Analytics or usage statistics
- We do not create user accounts or require registration

3. Third-Party Services
Rulr does not send your data to any third-party services. The only external interaction is:

No AI, no cloud processing. Unlike many measurement apps, Rulr performs all calculations on your device using Apple's ARKit, RealityKit, and CoreMotion frameworks. No data is sent to external servers.
4. Children's Privacy
Rulr is rated 4+ on the App Store and is suitable for all ages.
- We do not collect any personal information from any user, including children
- COPPA: Because we collect no personal information, Rulr is fully COPPA compliant
- GDPR Article 8: No age verification is required because no personal data is processed
- No user accounts, no registration, no social features
5. Your Rights
All Users
- Access: All your data is visible within the App (saved measurements, settings)
- Deletion: Delete individual measurements within the App, or delete the App to remove all data
- Portability: Export measurements as photos at any time
EU/EEA Residents (GDPR)
- Your rights under GDPR Articles 15–22 are fully supported
- Since all data is stored locally on your device and we have no access to it, you have complete control
- Right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority
California Residents (CCPA/CPRA)
- We do not sell or share your personal information
- We do not use your data for cross-context behavioral advertising
- We do not collect personal information as defined under CCPA
Brazil Residents (LGPD)
- All rights under LGPD (confirmation, access, correction, deletion, portability) are supported
- No personal data is collected or processed on our servers
Turkey Residents (KVKK)
- All rights under KVKK are supported
- No cross-border data transfers occur — all data remains on your device
Japan Residents (APPI)
- All rights under APPI (disclosure, correction, cessation) are supported
- No personal information is collected or transferred internationally
6. Data Security
- All data stored locally on your device, protected by iOS encryption and Secure Enclave
- No server-side storage — no servers to breach
- No user accounts or passwords — minimal attack surface
- Camera and sensor data processed in real time and never persisted
7. No Tracking, No Advertising
- Rulr does not track you across apps or websites
- We do not use advertising identifiers (IDFA) or App Tracking Transparency
- We do not display advertisements
- We do not share data with data brokers, ad networks, or analytics providers
- We do not use any third-party analytics SDKs
- We do not sell or share your personal information under any circumstances
8. Apple Required Privacy Disclosures
8.1 Required Reasons API (PrivacyInfo.xcprivacy)
Rulr declares the following API usage in its privacy manifest:

9. Data Breach Notification
Since we do not store any user data on our servers, the risk of a data breach affecting your personal information is effectively zero. However, in the unlikely event of a security incident:
- We will notify affected users within 72 hours of discovery
- We will notify relevant supervisory authorities as required by applicable law
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated through an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
